Mid-career growth avenues in logistics: Exploring in-demand roles and skills
With rapid digitalisation, improvement in infrastructure and noteworthy advancement in technology, the Indian logistics sector has become one of the fastest-growing sectors. This segment has ample career growth opportunities across various roles, and is seeking mid-career professionals.
The roles that are in high demand for mid-career level are transportation manager, supply chain manager, logistics engineer, supply chain analyst and operations manager. These are just a few of the positions, says Mahima Agarwal, President-HR, CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd, adding that the possibilities are endless.
On pay expectations, she says someone like a technical professional or a senior analyst can earn a great package with the required skills and knowledge.
According to the Employment Outlook Report (HY1) for FY24–25, the logistics industry will have more than 7% employment growth, owing to a rise in demand for end-to-end solutions and e-commerce management, according to Pranay Prakash, Head of Human Resources, BluWheelz.
Talking about the roles witnessing a demand surge, he lists the ones in warehousing and storage, fleet management, inventory management and data analytics. Plus, those with a solid understanding of GST and other taxation regulations are also needed.
