In India, road accidents claim 19 lives every hour. Can AI make driving safer?

In 2022, 19 people died every hour due to road accidents in India. That is an annual increase of 9.4%, at 1.68 lakh deaths, due to road accidents, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. With the country’s road infrastructure getting upgraded, can’t we look at ways to prevent or reduce the occurrences of these mishaps using technology.
