The Rise of Digitalisation and Sustainability for a Green Future: How CJ Darcl is Leading This Revolution
The Indian logistics market which is expected to reach Rs 13.4 trillion by FY28 from Rs 9 trillion in FY23 with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8-9 per cent is undergoing significant transformation to meet the evolving consumer demands. This growth trajectory highlights the sector’s immense potential and emphasises the need for a balanced approach focusing on sustainability and wider scalability.
This era has witnessed a proliferated demand for regular updates on shipment status along with lightning-fast deliveries. This has led the industry to direct its efforts towards establishing a solid digital infrastructure to meet the rising expectations of its customer. With the collaborative efforts of the government and industry players, the sector has taken multiple measures including:
Setting up of a Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) that offers seamless access to data from more than 11 Ministries of India. With around 1800 data fields accessible by 125 APIs, it enables us to authenticate the driver as well as the vehicle information and keep a better track of our vehicles and rail shipments. This digital integration of multiple platforms and data sets has reduced transit delays and compliance bottlenecks, whilst improving coordination and decision making.
Logistics Data Bank (LDB), a system that provides comprehensive tracking via container numbers. It tracks containers during domestic and international journeys from ports to hinterlands including railway stations, toll plazas, industrial corridors, Inland Container Depots, Container Freight Stations, SEZs etc. With an average of over 45 lakh unique container searches per month, it reflects the system’s effectiveness and the value it brings to stakeholders within the logistics sector.
MeghRaj, which is also known as GI Cloud, is another digital initiative that promotes e-governance by providing a digital infrastructure for delivery of e-services across government departments. It has improved the ICT spending of government and fastened the development and deployment of eGov applications.
